Blue Hawaii is Elvis’ fourth Soundtrack album.
In this episode we take a look at the recording sessions that were done in March 1961 for the soundtrack recordings to accompany the Movie.
Recording Sessions took place at Radio Recorders in Hollywood on March 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 1961.
A Sample of each of the 15 recordings done at the sessions are provided along with interesting information regarding each track.
Session chatter is also included to provide an insight into the recording process.
The Blue Hawaii soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1961 in the category of Best SoundTrack Album or Recording of Original Cast from a Motion Picture or Television.

I like Hawaiian beach boy, cos someone put his face against my hand, love that lyric, I think I like all the tepper/Bennet songs rock a hula baby is fantastic. Elvis does some great moves on rock a hula.

Elvis was and still the best ballad singer in the world. I know some movie songs must have been hard for him but ya know, he did them all to the best of his ability, a lot much more than his anility. Love it when he laughs. Cheers Steve x
