Eddie Fadal was a theater owner, disc jockey, and the sports writer for a local newspaper in Waco Texas.
His relationship with Elvis Presley began in 1956. He was a disc jockey at KRLD in Dallas,Texas, and Elvis was making the rounds. He had a lot of success in Texas, and Eddie met him at the radio station where he was promoting some records. Eddie liked his voice and thought he had great promise.
Elvis performed concerts in Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Coliseum during those years and each time visited the Fadal home before and after his concerts. At Elvis’ invitation, Eddie accompanied him on tour during those days, as a trusted friend and traveling companion.
When Elvis was drafted into the United States Army in 1958, and stationed at nearby Fort Hood, he would often get away to the Fadal home on the weekends. Sometimes, during that six-month stint, he would unexpectedly show up in the middle of the week if he could get a day off from the base, along with his relatives and friends who often accompanied him to Waco
I’m delighted to be joined by Eddie’s daughter, Janice for this episode as she shares her memories of those days when she was a little Girl and Elvis called and stayed at her home.

Hello Steve, so appreciate your sharing the memories of this very sweet, sweet lady and The Elvis House. I have always heard that Col. Parker gave Elvis a bill for 2 million dollars as how much Elvis owed him in order to release him as manager, was this figure true? As always, thank you so much for all you do.
